Windsurf boards are an ever-changing world! Starting from narrow and long boards with which surfing was not easy at all, since the beginning of the 2000s this sport has started to change its face. New designs, new shapes, addition of new manufacturers have completely changed this sport; first of all the changes was the development of the litter, no longer on the length, but on the width, this to make the board easier ... just think that a freeride 20 years ago was about 60-65cm, now they arrive also to 85cm. Another great development have been the edges of the boards, now most of them are built with parallel edges, this helps the rider a lot to have a higher upwind having a smoother travel and facilitating the planing of the board. Nowadays the choice of a board is made not only based on the level, but also on the use, each board has a specific use; windsurf boards can be from: Wave, Freewave, Freestyle, Freeride, Slalom or from Foil. Windsurf boards can be found with different constructions, starting from the classic sandwich construction (interior of the board in Foam with a simple resin coating) up to a construction with glass fibers and the addition of various layers of carbon making it lighter . The addition of glass and / or carbon fibers also affects the flex making it more rigid and increasing its performance.
