Based on the incredibly versatile original E_PACE, the goal of the SLS version was to achieve a more raced feel combined with better acceleration and power than other camless freerace sails. Following the SLS philosophy, we also wanted to create the lightest camless freerace film sail on the market, but without sacrificing durability. The result is simply spectacular as the E_PACE SLS is the fastest and lightest camless freerace sail we have ever made. A more forward-facing trail position gives the E_PACE SLS a ride feel very similar to the S_PACE or WARP. To prevent this forward movement from creating a catapult tendency, the leech is slightly more open, which also improves control over the treble (= v-max). The intelligent use of CARBON XPLY in the high-load clew and upper area results in the most effective conversion of wind energy into forward motion. However, the slightly more (re)flexible regular XPLY in the body prevents the power from becoming uncontrollable. A common characteristic of many other camless freerace wings is to significantly compromise low-end performance in pursuit of top speed. To avoid this we have increased the pre-shaping of the sail which improves acceleration and power despite the open leech. Another milestone of the intensive development is the weight reduction by an impressive 500 g, making the E_Pace SLS the lightest camless freerace sail on the market. We achieved this thanks to STRIPPED TO THE MAX optic reduction, our unique ONE-PIECE SLEEVE, and high-tech single-layer reinforcement patches that replace the usual 5-layer patches. However, the thickness of the panels has not been reduced, making the E_PACE SLS the best low weight/strength ratio on the market. We back it up with our extended 5 YEAR WARRANTY, something no other brand can offer! Please note: 1. The increased pre-shaping requires more string tension than the original E_PACE (approximately 2cm more eyelet tension = 8cm more string tension). This additional pre-shaping also means that the lower battens of the E_PACE SLS will not rotate as easily as the original E_PACE in non-planing/drifting conditions. Or in other words the E_PACE SLS requires a more active jibe technique on the backhand. 2. Because the E_PACE SLS is a more uncompromising performance wing than the original E_PACE, it has a smaller downhaul trim range.
