The Chrono V5 is not a design reworking like the V4 model, but is instead a continuous evolution of refined handling. Performance-wise, it still sits between the Hyperlink and R1 models. The design of the V5 focused on refining the shape of the wing, which resulted in rounder loops with better acceleration, generally smoother handling and less stall.
The new 9 and 7 meter sizes are capable of providing immense thrust and glide, offering truly exciting performance possibilities in stronger winds.
Furthermore, the new valve has a new shape which allows for faster inflation and better pressure retention.
Although only slightly more challenging than the Hyperlink to pilot, the performance spectrum of the Chrono V5 approaches the extraordinary R1 race car, unleashing your progression potential. Introduced on the Chrono V4, our innovative Leading Edge Transverse Sail Shaping design optimizes the most important section of the aerofoil, resulting in a smoother surface and smoother aerodynamic performance. The Chrono V5 is still based on the same planform as the V4, with a high number of cells and a relatively low (and shorter) number of bridles. This not only reduces aerodynamic drag, but also makes for an easier and more streamlined set-up compared to other performance-based designs on the market. Beautifully light and with unrivaled stability, the Chrono V5's immediate response to bar inputs makes it easy to find power in even the weakest gusts, helping you in conditions where available power would otherwise be minimal. The newly improved lightweight feel of the bar means fatigue is no longer an issue, while the smooth, dynamic movement produces consistent power delivery during turns, for a very direct flying experience. By integrating a lightweight, airtight and robust double rip-stop fabric on the top and bottom surfaces, the Chrono V5's water-repellent coating improves flight characteristics and facilitates relaunching in the water. In Ozone, durability meets lightness, as always. Improved vents on the leading edge ensure efficient inflation, improved sealing and optimized positioning for consistent internal air pressure. These improvements also aid relaunch capabilities both on land and in water, ensuring excellent recovery.
Three settings allow you to fine-tune kite feedback and bar pressure to your liking. It's quick and easy to change with no extra lines to add or remove.
1: HYDROFOIL:
Decreases bar pressure with a longer lift period, perfect for Hydrofoil maneuvers. The Hydrofoil setting is the top node of the PB1 line.
2: ALL-ROUND:
The ideal balance of performance and feel for most riders and conditions. The All-Round setting is the center node of the PB1 line (factory setting).
3: TWIN-TIP:
It increases bar pressure and provides a crisper, more direct feel, perfect for twin-tip riding. If you prefer a heavier, more direct feel, this might be the setting for you. The twin-tip setup is the lowest knot on the PB1 line.
