Lower design, extreme durability
So that the iBASE 2.0 can be installed or removed without the need for tools, it has been designed to include a central screw. While these designs are normally built relatively tall, our engineers have come up with a solution to make the iBASE 2.0 the lowest base of its kind. Because there's nothing in the way, the risk of injury to your hands and feet is minimized. In contrast to traditional Zytel plastic masthead bases, the iBASE 2.0 is uniquely manufactured using a much stiffer material known as POM, thus improving durability.
One for all - just one basis for all conditions
We are 100% convinced that absolutely no one in any condition and for any discipline needs more than one foundation. The high flexibility and ease of installation and removal make the need for multiple bases and different systems simply obsolete. This is why we only offer iBASE 2.0. All these additional features do not lead to any additional weight - something that other bases on the market cannot claim to achieve!
Release option
We have always been annoyed with having to unscrew the base from the board after the surf session with tired hands, just so the board fits in the bag. Specifically for this problem, the iBASE 2.0 offers a convenient release option to remove the connection joint by simply pulling the sand resistant stainless steel U-pin. Without the need for tools, you can also swap it for a different model in seconds depending on your preference. An added benefit of this feature is that with a replacement joint/tendon you are immediately ready to intervene again in the worst case scenario, without having to go through the effort of joint/tendon repair.
Even safer
A) For all safety nuts, it is now possible to fix the release button with a screw (PERMA LOCK OPTION), thus inhibiting the release function.
B) Should the iBASE 2.0 become stuck to the board after long periods of storage, two keyholes now allow you to use a screwdriver as a lever to easily release the base.
