At Gnu, women's snowboard design began in the 1980s, with a world champion riding the boards and competing, often winning, against the men. The 1990s brought about a change in the sport and incredible growth as snowboarding became an accepted resort activity around the world. Gnu worked with Barrett to create one of the first women's pro boards and to date it is the longest running women's pro board in the industry. Since then Gnu has worked to design the most impressive women's collection, with a solid understanding of the market and the need for a performance product that makes snowboarding easier, more fun and more inclusive for everyone. The men's collection has always been developed by riders for riders, always improving performance and quality but keeping one fixed goal: ecology!
