Technical information

The basis is the revolutionary 3 IN 1 DESIGN that Kai has developed over a period of 3 years, which allows for an unprecedented range of finishes. Together with the three brand new HYPER CAM 2.0s, the result is an extremely wide range of use: adjusting the S_PACE trim for low- or high-end conditions radically changes the sail, which makes it possible to achieve maximum performance in all wind conditions! The new S_PACE with the 3 IN 1 DESIGN is the perfect symbiosis of our most successful slalom and freeride sails: whether for V-Max, maximum acceleration or used as a sport foil motor, the S_PACE is the most versatile cam sail on the market. With this sail designer Kai Hopf combines the highest performance of the WARP with a very balanced sailing behavior and a much wider range of use. This is achieved through a very small and almost straight luff curve at the top. This causes changes in luff tension to have a very large effect on the leech. A low downhaul tension results in a very tight leech, a high tension leads to a very pronounced leech. The two MIN and MAX trim points positioned extremely far apart from each other are proof that the 3 IN 1 DESIGN covers an incredibly wide wind range. Furthermore, the S_PACE displays high- or low-end performance and a completely different sailing character depending on the trim. At the MIN setting with the tight leech, it is an effective supper to pump, accelerates very efficiently and feels incredibly light, also ideal for foiling. In MAX trim, however, the S_PACE feels very similar to the WARP, consistently getting faster without limits. Three new HYPER CAMS 2.0 with adjustable length ensure unique draft and profile stability and smooth rotation. Particularly noticeable is the highly tapered luff sleeve in the AERO SLEEVE DESIGN 2.0. Its width in the aerodynamically important boom area allows for the optimal transition from the “thick” mast leading edge to the “thin” sail body. However, at the top of the sail, the luff sleeve remained relatively narrow to allow for quick starts in the water. This is supported by the LUFF LIFT DESIGN of the WARP 20.20, which provides additional lift. Simply great: When used for foiling, the S_PACE is equipped with a special clew eyelet to be able to position the sail even more vertically!
