The brand new Sic Maui wing foil Raptor 2021 has been designed and rigorously tested by the team in Maui and Europe. Working in partnership with sister company CORE Kiteboarding, a leader in kite design and technology, SIC is proud to introduce this series of high performance wings. The leading edge of the wing uses our ultra stiff and non-elastic Dacron ExoTex®, which incorporates a unique thread structure and an emulsion process (protective coating) that allows the structure to support high pressure while substantially increasing strength and the stiffness of the tube. Non-stretch Dacron improves airflow, flight stability and prevents swelling of the leading edge seams. Expect snappy turns, explosive lift and smooth upwind sailing. Our material, the industry-leading CORETEX® TRIPLE RIPSTOP was developed by CORE Kiteboarding and is only available on SIC Raptor wings. CORETEX® sets the standard in terms of tear strength, tear strength, UV protection, elongation and overall durability. The low aspect ratio of the wing provides enormous power and, thanks to a shorter wingspan, the possibility of the wing tip touching the water during turns, jibes and landings is reduced. The Raptor uses an in-flow panel that connects the wing with the control strut ensuring that the wing maintains the most efficient aerodynamic profile during acceleration and cruising speed. Mesh handles help maintain control, precision and comfort. The RUSH-AIR valve system allows you to quickly bring the wing to the required inflation pressure with little effort and allows you to deflate the wing in case of pressure adjustment or when you want to fold it back. The large diameter inflation valves allow for maximized airflow with minimal drag which in combination with the high quality double action pump makes the wing inflate in minutes. It has a reflex membrane which eliminates any pressure loss when the pump is detached. The valve cap is safe and easy to screw on. When removing, simply unscrew the entire valve and the wings will deflate in an instant. The leading edge and the control riser are inflated by two independent valves, this allows you to vary the inflation pressure in each air chamber to fine-tune the wing according to the most varied conditions. In lighter winds, you can use slightly lower Leading Edge pressure (6-7 PSI), while when inflating to 8 PSI you'll have better high wind control and more wing stability. The control mast must always be pumped to 8 PSI to stretch the sail sufficiently for the boom to be stiff enough.
