Armstrong foil was born from a small group of friends from different professional backgrounds who believed and wanted to support Armie's vision. Passionate watermen who practice surfing, kite, sup, wakeboarding, tow surfing, wing foiling and windsurfing. The goal is to develop a top of the range foil set up that can be easily used for all foil sports. Armstrong products are the result of a genuine connection between Armie, the designer, being a rider who is constantly testing, tweaking and perfecting in search of that sublime feel.... Armie has spent most of his life in and around the 'waterfall. From Sailing, Kayaking, Surfing, Wind-Surfing, Kite boarding, SUP-surfing, SUP-racing Armie has pushed himself to excel in all of these sports. This passion brought Armie to the drawing board as his foil requirements were not being met in the market, the rest as they say is history! An Armstrong design is an uncompromising design. Through better engineering, perfect material selection, attention to detail in every aspect, and meticulous manufacturing, each product is simply the best money can buy and will last longer and perform flawlessly throughout its lifetime. Realizing that this was a complex and detailed design challenge, Armie enlisted talented and diverse design skills from a number of highly respected individuals such as Jim Moore, legendary foil maker and boat builder (veteran wing-building campaigns for the Team New Zealand's America's Cup). Jim offered expert advice particularly working out the intricate construction details, material selection and layouts including the unique Quad-C-Beam core layout of Armstrong masts and Rob Whittall - aerofoil designer and good friend - with a lifetime of modifications to foil sections for hang gliders, paragliders and kites.
