Contrary to its position in today's skateboarding business, Venture's beginnings were quite modest. The duo Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello (collaborators in the foundation of the Independent brand) designed these trucks at advantageous prices, but still of high quality, at the beginning of the 80s. They achieved this by giving up graphics and in the same way they wanted to guarantee top quality stuff. So the leading vert and freestyle truck manufacturers of the time, Tracker, Gullwing and Indipendent would soon have a very strong competitor to compete with. The rise of Venture is closely linked with the popularization of street-skating. With the welcome of Mark Gonzales into the Venture skate team he managed to enter the league of truck manufacturers. Together with street pioneers such as Jason Lee, Ray Barbee, Sean Sheffey and Mike Vallely the brand has managed to set new standards in the production of street trucks. In the 1990s the brand gained even more credibility by producing the first low-trucks.
