Nitro Snowboards was founded in 1989 in Seattle, Washington by two true snowboarders Tommy Delago and Sepp Ardelt, who have both always been on the management team. Throughout its history, Nitro Snowboards has been exclusively focused and engaged in the snowboard market and is to this day rider owned and operated. With satellite offices in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Canada and the United States, Nitro Snowboards operates on a global basis. Most of the hardgood development takes place in the German office in Oberammergau, where it can then be tested right away on the neighboring slopes. The Salt Lake City office is the primary location for all binding boards and graphics. Nitro offers a wide range of different snowboard models, providing riders of all ages and abilities with the right shred stick for whatever they're choosing: freestyle, back country or all mountain snowboard. The company owns two clothing brands: Nitro Outerwear and L1. While Nitro Outerwear offers functional, high-quality clothing, L1 is more fashion-oriented while still functioning as snowboard clothing. Nitro Snowboards also produces snowboard boots and bindings, the bindings were formerly known as Raiden Bindings.
