A little over 20 years ago, in a small corner of Haiku Cannery, in a small town on the island of Maui, in a small region of the vast Pacific Ocean, the first kite boards with the name Cabrinha were produced. The sport of kitesurfing was a rocket about to take off and the two friends held the fuse in one hand and the matchbox in the other. At the time, sugarcane was Maui's largest export, but the advent of surfing and wind sports was the island's most coveted resource. There was so much happening in a short amount of time that it seemed that by the time the resin was dry on their latest prototype board, they had already designed the one that would replace it. It was weird to deal with the concept of making something obsolete while doing something absolutely revolutionary in the same week. It was fun, uncertain, exciting, excruciating but rewarding. The past 20 years have been an incredible time for Cabrinha and for kitesurfing. Every year they took a step further and they learned to develop new concepts by growing and making innovations, of course they had to take risks but they also won prizes, crowned champions and celebrated the rise of this incredible sport but above all they remained curious. Every year they try to keep up with the times trying to anticipate the news of the moment, combining the experience gained and the perspective to create a future for the next 20 years. The Cabrinha collection makes us understand the solidity of the company and the direction it has taken, it defines a clear path on where they are headed as a brand. All of you have played a huge role in Cabrinha's success but, more importantly, you have made the brand a diverse and dynamic cultural icon.
