The O'Neill brand was born in 1952 when founder, Jack O'Neill, began designing and manufacturing the world's first wetsuits from the world's first surf shop, a humble garage near the Great Highway, San Francisco. Jack's mastery of both board shaping and wetsuit design soon spread to surfers around the world eager to get their hands on his designs so they could surf better, for longer. Before long Jack's satisfied customers included windsurfers, scuba divers, water skiers and snow skiers. As the company continued to grow and evolve, Jack involved all of his six children in the manufacturing and marketing process. By the 1980s Jack O'Neill's pioneering workshop had grown into a respected and much loved international surf brand, leading the lifestyle sportswear markets in the United States, Europe and Japan. Throughout every stage of O'Neill's journey, Jack, his family and his team have remained true to their mission. To produce the best, strongest, most durable and stylish surf and sportswear apparel and accessories possible. To work with innovators and enthusiasts.
